Full-time mom and crafter! My particular passions are paper crafting and cross-stitching, but I tend to pick up new interests each time I stroll through a craft store. :)
“I want a Red Ryder carbine action two-hundred shot range model air rifle. Oooooooh!”
“No, you’ll shoot your eye out.”
Happy Friday! Thanks so much for stopping by! Each Friday, I post a free pattern download. These are available for 24 hours. After that, you can find them in my Etsy or eBay shop.
Today’s gift is very special indeed! The leg lamp from A Christmas Story is one of the biggest pop culture icons of the season. This fabulous tapestry will be a conversation starter for everyone who enters your home! It would also make an amazing gift for someone!
This piece is 196×440 stitches, or approximately 11×24.5 inches on an 18 count fabric.
Enjoy, and happy stitching!
xoxo
Genevieve

Christmas cross-stitch patterns are some of my most popular designs. It’s great to be able to take that finished piece out year after year and incorporate it into your holiday décor for the family to enjoy and ooooh and awwww over for generations to come.
If you haven’t had a chance to stop by my Bella Stitchery shop in awhile, here are just a few of my current designs. I like to create everything from kitschy and retro, to funny and pop culture.
Don’t see exactly what you’re looking for? Feel free to contact me for custom designs! 🙂
Woo! Christmas! I love this season SO much that I’m doing my part to spread the joy by giving away this three-card collection! I have lovingly designed these one-of-a-kind creations with a large die-cut greeting embellishment – complete with hand-cut star and pink rhinestone. I have also added baker’s twine and festive polka dot cardstock along the bottom. The inside is also fully embellished (just like a present!).
Each card is about 5.5 inches square and comes with a white envelope.
In order to qualify for the drawing, simply:
* Leave a comment here telling me all about your favorite Christmas tradition (and please be sure to leave me your email address as well, so I can contact you when you win).
* Share this contest link with your friends on Twitter or Facebook.
I’ll announce the winner on Friday, so you’ll have these puppies in plenty of time to mail them to your closest loved ones.
On evenings when my little guy, Henry, decides to sleep well, I enjoy the occasional paper piecing. Granted, they make the scrapbook layout-making process much longer (this double-page layout took me a little over 2 hours), however, I am always so pleased with the results.
I used the Miss Kate Cuttables Pumpkins in Wagon SVG for my Cricut. I originally incorporated the eight layer pumpkins into my invitations, and then realized how perfect they would be on the scrapbook page as well. I used the invitation as my main embellishment, since it already contained all the party details.
We had Henry’s birthday at the Country Mercantile pumpkin patch, so it was perfect!
Would you love to have a fantastic scrapbook, but don’t have the time to make one? Please feel free to contact me regarding prices for custom scrapbook pages. Also, I have several ready-made pages available on my Etsy shop. Each is lovingly handmade with lots of fun 3D details. Simply add photos and enjoy for years to come!
Thanks so much for stopping by, and happy crafting!
As an avid crafter, I have no shortage of craft ideas in my hopper to try next (hard to imagine life before Pinterest).
I have come to the realization that just because I treasure handmade, it doesn’t mean I have to make everything. My craft room is only so big!
I’m suggesting that, rather than DIY, let’s promote BIY (buy-it-yourself) once in awhile. Save yourself the time and shopping cart full of materials for one single project that – let’s be honest – may or may not ever get made, and support other crafters. It’s a win-win!
Today’s post is all about handmade soap. It always sounds like a good idea…but what a mess it can be! I made soap one time, and I think I’m still picking gunk from under my nails five years later.
I say order the handmade stuff and skip the trouble altogether. Here are some amazing crafters that would love to share their handiwork with you and save you a kitchen clean-up nightmare.
How about some festive pumpkin scented soap like these, available from LippincottSoapCo? Their soaps have even been featured in Creating Vintage Charm magazine, and with elegant soap like these, it’s not surprising.

I also love these cottage chic style soap bars from NorasSoapScents. The price of her soap also includes beautiful gift wrap in your choice of sheer bag in white, black, or pink. They also come wrapped with a cute ribbon and flower accent, making them a great gift idea.

What takes 8 months to complete and a lifetime to enjoy? This handmade finished cross-stitch! I finished this pin-up with plane fiber art in 2013 and she’s looking for a good home.
Happy bidding, and thanks so much for supporting handmade!
P.S. Love this pin-up, but want to make something of your own? I also have this fabulous retro illustration available as a fabric block! Perfect for embroidery hoops, altered art embroidery, pillows and more!
Welcome to my Bella Stitchery blog, and I am so happy to give you today’s freebie pattern!
I made it just last night with the help of a Vintage Thanksgiving illustration, Photoshop, my cross-stitch software, and some late-night coffee (love the Caramel Brulée Latte from Starbucks).
Simply click here to download the pattern, complete with DMC floss requirements. All the stitches are full X stitches, so it’s great for any level of cross-stitcher. This piece will be approximately 20×12.25 inches, based on a 14 count fabric (you can use any size you like, however) and the stitch count is 280×173.
Please sign up to receive email updates of my blog posts and be the first to hear about future freebies, new listings in my shop, and more crafty goodness. Also, feel free to contact me regarding custom patterns – I would love to hear from you!
One of my favorite things about creating cross-stitch patterns is the endless possibility for design.
With simple needle and thread, anyone can create a masterpiece – even one worthy of scientific recognition!
I have designed these special pieces due to popular request from the stitching community. I love the life-like results and they have appealed to such a range of crafter, from students to doctors.
The holidays are here once again, and it’s a great time to cozy in with the family, enjoy a little time off of school and work, and get busy cross-stitchin’! With all the classic holiday movies about to start up on television, what better way to relive those old favorites than with a Thanksgiving themed cross-stitch pattern?
Here are some that I have made. They can all be found under the holiday section of my Bella Stitchery Design shop on Etsy.
Do you have a favorite image or photo that you would like to make into a cross-stitch project? Please feel free to contact me for custom patterns – I would be delighted to design a special project for you!
