I love Lindy’s Gang Magicals for so many reasons – one of which is their versatility. When mixed with some white gesso, it’s so super easy to make custom paint colors!

Here’s a video about the simple, one-step process (I DID say it was easy right?):

I used this technique with each of the 5 colors in the Drop Dead Diva Magicals set to make this fun mixed media scrapbook layout too! You can purchase this happy layout from my eBay shop as well (only one available).

DIY – Dyeing Seam Binding and Lace

I love using vintage looking accents in my cards and scrapbook pages.

I’ve learned several ways to dye my ribbons and trims, using various ink and paint brands and am happy to share this trick with you!

Here are some examples of cards I’ve made using my hand dyed seam binding:

Mixed Media REMEMBER Layout

26

Watercolor and stencil backgrounds are my new favorite way to design scrapbook layouts. I love the versatility, and the fact that every time turns out a little bit different.

This 12×12 page was made using several shades of the Lindy’s Gang Magical Shakers:

I also added some stencil and stamping ink for the polka dots.

The page pops with the bold, bright colors of these Prima Marketing flowers. I love the sherbet shades of oranges and corals in the Paradisia collection.

This was such a fun page to make. I love experimenting with color and balance in the collage. Thanks so much for stopping by. Hope you were inspired today! xoxo

Watercolor with Lindy’s Magicals

10

Ok. This is my new favorite way to scrapbook. I remember watching several YouTube videos about Lindy’s Gang shakers and I thinking, “THAT is how all these cool mixed media pages look like that. Holy smokes.” (that was my actual interior dialogue).

I bought this ten pack on Amazon last week to try them out:

And my life has changed forever.

Here are some more pages I made this week using the shakers and just some water spray…

Literally just shake them onto your paper and spray with water. I didn’t even need a paintbrush.

For the bright purple color in the first layout, I also added Dylusions ink sprays to make the color bolder. I found that if the paper was wet enough, they blended really well with the powder pinks from Lindy’s Gang.

Hope these pages inspire you to get messy! Please let me know if you’d like a video tutorial as well. I’m super excited about my new-found artistry!

Happy crafting!
